JOB DETAILS:
Reports to: Commercial Manager
Qualification and Educational Background:
• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
• Proficiency in both English and Chinese (written and spoken).
• Additional qualifications in contract law or contract management are a plus.
Experience and Knowledge:
• At least 5 years of experience in managing contracts in the construction industry.
• Strong experience in handling contracts for large-scale projects valued at $30 million or more.
• In-depth understanding of construction contract terms, conditions, and legal requirements.
• Proficiency in both Chinese and English, especially in the context of contract negotiation and communication.
Job Summary:
The Contract Engineer (Can Speak Chinese) will be responsible for overseeing all contractual aspects of the construction project. This includes preparing, negotiating, and administering contracts with contractors, subcontractors, and suppliers. The role requires proficiency in both Chinese and English to manage communications effectively between Chinese and local teams. The Contract Engineer will ensure that all contractual obligations are met and help resolve any disputes that may arise.
Key Responsibilities:
• Draft, review, and negotiate construction contracts with all relevant parties.
• Ensure that contracts comply with legal standards and project requirements.
• Monitor and manage contract execution, ensuring all parties adhere to the terms and conditions.
• Address any contractual disputes and provide recommendations for resolution.
• Ensure that the project’s scope, timeline, and budget are in alignment with contractual agreements.
• Communicate with Chinese-speaking stakeholders and manage contract-related communications in both languages.
