The Radiographer ensures high-quality images while maintaining patient safety and comfort throughout the imaging process. Job Details - Manage and fully run the department in the absence of the Team leader/departmental Head.
- Receive and analyze radiology request forms.
- Take and process x-rays, ultrasounds, MIRs and generate reports.
- Ensure that patients are registered and verified by the billing department.
- Dispatch results to referring clinicians/ doctors.
- Ensure radiation protection to self, patients and others in the radiology department.
- Participate in stocktaking while liaising with a radiology assistant and ensure that the required consumables are available in the department.
- Providing instructions and information on special procedures like IVPs and enemas to the medical staff, especially the nurses.
- Keep up to date with the developments in the field and implement such development in the unit.
- Supervise the radiology assistant in some complex or specialized radiographic procedures.
- Work as the radiation safety officer for the radiology units and ensure compliance to regulations stipulated by the law. The TOR are in separate sheet, guided by AEC.
Requirements - Must have a Diploma in Radiography from a recognized university or institution. A bachelorâs degree in Radiography or Medical Imaging will be an added advantage.
- Must have at least 2 years of experience working in a busy diagnostic centre.
