JOB DETAILS:
Reports to: Commercial Manager
Qualification and Educational Background:
• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
• Additional qualifications in project management or construction finance will be a plus.
Experience and Knowledge:
• At least 5 years of experience in quantity surveying for civil and mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) works.
• Strong knowledge of cost estimation, contract negotiation, and value engineering.
• Experience working on large-scale construction projects, particularly those valued at $30 million or more.
Job Summary:
The Project Quantity Surveyor (Civil & MEP) will be responsible for managing all cost-related aspects of construction projects. This includes estimating project costs, preparing budgets, managing contracts, and ensuring that the project stays within the financial budget. The role involves working closely with engineers and contractors to ensure that all MEP aspects of the project are accurately costed and implemented.
Key Responsibilities:
• Prepare cost estimates and budgets for construction projects.
• Analyze and manage project costs, ensuring the project remains within the allocated budget.
• Conduct value engineering to optimize costs without compromising on quality or safety.
• Monitor contract performance, including material procurement, labor costs, and subcontractor charges.
• Provide financial reports to the project management team and recommend cost-saving measures.
• Prepare and negotiate variations and change orders with clients and contractors.
