- Ensure accurate capitalization of construction-related expenses in line with applicable accounting standards
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and contractors to validate completion milestones and certification processes
- Maintain organized records of all project expenditures, contracts, and approvals
- Prepare periodic financial reports and forecasts for stakeholders
- Reconcile project budgets against actual costs and investigate variances
- Support internal and external audits, ensuring compliance with controls and regulatory requirements
- Assist in preparing asset capitalization entries upon project completion
- Any other tasks as may be assigned from time to time by the Line Manager
Role Requirements: - Bachelorâs Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a financial business-related field. Certification in CPA or ACCA is an added advantageb.
- Strong knowledge of capital expenditure accounting, asset recognition, and depreciationd.
- Working knowledge of tax treatment for construction-related expenses, including VAT, withholding tax, and capital allowancesf.
- Skilled in data analysis using Excel and Power BI for interpretation and presentationh.
- Excellent organizational and documentation abilitiesj.
- Effective stakeholder engagement and interpersonal communication
- Project management experience or certification is an added advantage
- Analytical mindset with high attention to detail
- Strong cross-functional collaboration, presentation, and communication skills
- Proficiency in SAP ERP accounting software
- Familiarity with construction project workflows, including certification and completion protocols
- 3â5 years of accounting experience, preferably with exposure to capital projects or construction
