JOB DETAILS: The Balinda Children’s Foundation (BCFU) is a community organisation based in Kyenjojo with a focus on serving Youth, girls and women to achieve their full potential through skilling, VSLAs, education and health support. Our Vision: A Uganda society where all children and youth achieve their full social and economic potential. Our mission: The mission is to improve the lives of youth, vulnerable children, and their families to become competent, skilled, and economically sustainable through livelihood training and support, education, and health. BCFU is implementing the Empowering Youth through Data and community development (EYDCD) program funded by Children’s Rights and Violence Prevention Fund (CRVPF). BCFU is a cluster lead in a partnership of three organisation. BCFU is hiring a Program coordinator as the lead technical staff on the project. The position will be based in Kyenjojo District with travels to support the cluster interventions in Kabarole District Position summary: The Program coordinator position is managerial with key responsibilities over program design and implementation, financial management, monitoring and evaluation, partnerships, reporting and resource management for the EYDCD Western cluster. The right candidate should have a minimum of three years of working experience in a similar role and should be committed to living and working fulltime from Kyenjojo. At least a bachelors degree in Social Sciences, Social work and administration, community development and development studies is required. At least 5 years of experience working in project management and coordination including youth livelihoods and gender ? Experience managing and supervising teams ? Strong organizational, project management, and time management skills ? Experience with strategy development to include goal setting, initiative development, resource allocation, and implementation through project management with multi-disciplinary teams ? Excellent verbal and written communication skills: ? Track record in collaborating with different partners at different levels including community, sub county and district levels ? Experience living and working in Western Uganda especially Kyenjojo and Kabarole Districts will be an added advantage Education: A bachelor’s degree in public administration or community Development, development studies and business administration. Other courses, training, or certificates may be required or helpful. • Develop strategies for implementation of the Western Cluster and monitoring the implementation of the cluster Memorandum of Understanding • Coordinate with the board of directors and management of the cluster partners to report on performance and of the project • Ensuring that the cluster members are complying with the CRVPF guidelines and requirements • Represent the organization and project in the public including attending public events, government meetings and events • Manage the day-to-day operations of the cluster and organizational activities • Supervise BCFU staff and cluster program officers; provide mentorship and coaching, training and hold them accountable to deliverables and results • Lead performance planning and reviews for cluster staff Program design, implementation • Maintain strong working relationships with partners, donors and other stakeholders and host meetings to discuss progress of project implementation and targets • Develop program work plans with detailed activities and timelines and share with cluster leaders for approval or consolidate the workplans of all cluster members into one and submit as needed • Lead implementation of all cluster activities in all the priority areas ensuring that targets and objectives drive implementation • Create awareness among the community and districts and mobilize stakeholders as needed • Regular visits to the field to check on progress of activities including visiting beneficiaries, meeting with districts and local leaders, visiting homes and tracking progress • Organize and or facilitate training for beneficiaries, communities and parents and follow up to ensure skills are being implemented. Administration and Financial Management • Ensure that assets of the cluster are in good condition and develop a system for tracking all assets • Coordinate monthly cluster meetings and ensure minutes are documented and filed • Work with the cluster organizations leaders to ensure all obligations with the donor are being met • Work with the accountant to prepare and submit accurate financial reports • Periodically review the organization's financial reports and identify opportunities for cost reduction. Monitoring and Reporting • Ensure the cluster partners submit activity reports at least 5 days after the activity • Responsible for Monthly and quarterly reporting to CRVPF and ensuring they are submitted and include progress, photos and stories of success and are submitted three days prior to the end of the month • Lead the implementation of the logical framework and monitoring and implementation plan • Lead monthly monitoring activities in collaboration with the local leaders • Document success stories and convene project review meetings with the board and stakeholders KEY TALENTS/WAYS OF BEING ? Ability to demonstrate strong interpersonal skills: active listening and observation, transparency, emotional intelligence, and clear communication ? Exhibit organization, flexibility and time management of daily tasks and long-term projects ? Solicit input from stakeholders to facilitate decision-making and make decisions on behalf of team/organization as appropriate ? Encourage/empower staff to solve problems while providing the feedback, tools, and resources necessary for staff growth and development ? Encourage staff and cluster partners to make proactive investments to deliver project results ? Strategic & analytical thinker KEY SKILLS/WAYS OF DOING ?
