On behalf of Our client in the FMCG Sector, we are looking for a competent and experienced Production Planer to be based in Kampala Job Summary The purpose of the Production Planner is that of gathering and disseminate information that guides the S&OP process, and more so the forecasting of production. Main Duties and Responsibilities - Formulate and execute the yearly manufacturing plan to deliver the business objectives of the company including production volume, manufacturing controlled cost, quality and safety aspects, capacity, and improvement strategies.
- Maintaining KPIs (Forecast accuracy & Bias) and ensuring that they are up to our target level standards and guidelines.
- Develop and maintain a repository of relevant information that can be utilized within the S&OP process
- Ensure that standards/guidelines to the process are adhered to ensure accuracy and consistency of data used for decision-making, internal/external reporting and communications.
- Conduct analysis to generate insights that guide opportunity sizing and prioritization
- Ensure the integrity and quality of the manufacturing data on the ERP systems.
- Direct work assignment in staffing, scheduling, coordinating, and planning in various sections of the operations department to achieve budgeted output.
- Oversee the manufacturing operations consistent with the company operating guidelines.
- Ensure that the production is cost effective and that there is strict adherence to consumption norms.
- Ensure all products are manufactured to approved products specifications (PPAP).
- Track competencies of subordinates and provide leadership and development as required to achieve the objectives.
- Performs any other task as per management request.
Qualifications, Experience, and Skills - A bachelorâs degree in business administration or related field
- 5+ years of Production experience with 2+ years of production management experience within consumer products, specifically beverage, food or other clean manufacturing.
- Production Lines inspection experience.
- Knowledge of ISO requirements and audits.
- Knowledge of Statistical Process Control, HACCP, sanitation, and hygienic design.
- Strong analytical skills
- Proven leadership skills, coaching and developing leaders & employees.
- Strong internal and external customer focus with great follow-up.
- Ability to provide afterhours support to a 24 X 7 operation for critical issues.
- Self-directed with high integrity and the maturity to be an effective manager
