Job Description/Requirements Location: Kasese Term: 1 Year Start Date: immediately Company Overview Latitude Trade Company (LTC) is a rapidly growing social enterprise in Uganda sourcing specialty cacao for export and producing bean-to-bar chocolate at origin. Working with over 4,500 certified organic smallholder farmers, our mission is to sustainably increase incomes and reduce risk for our suppliers while positively impacting the community and environment surrounding our operations. We aim to provide chocolate makers and consumers in East Africa and around the world with the highest quality, transparently sourced, and fully traceable Ugandan cocoa products. Job Description The Production Officer is a full-time position based in rural Uganda supporting the production of Latitude cocoa ;The core responsibilities include:  - Active participation in and management of all aspects of production including receiving cocoa, weighing, fermentation, drying, sorting, blending and packing.Â
- Reporting of fermentation temperatures and drying moisturesÂ
- Supervision of casual workersÂ
- Management of production experimentsÂ
- Reporting of buyer performance boxes and sample outcomesÂ
- Escorting of trucks delivering fresh and dry cocoaÂ
- Organization and cleanliness of the production site and storage areasÂ
- Care and tracking over company items and assetsÂ
- Fulfillment of certification requirements as advised by managementÂ
- Support field work and procurement work as neededÂ
- Completion of relevant documentation for production and storage of cocoaÂ
- Coordinating receiving and sending of packages to/from offices including cocoa samplesÂ
- Regular data entry of data and records Â

Qualifications:Â - Proficiency in computers (particularly MS Excel and Word), high level of organizational skills, degree or certificate in relevant fields (agriculture, management, finance, accounting, etc), previous experience in similar agro-processing business.
