Responsibilities or duties
Policy and Framework Development: Coordinate the design, development, and review of the quality assurance framework, policies, guidelines, strategies, tools, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and systems in line with regulatory requirements and industry standards. Develop and implement the academic division's annual work plan in line with the quality assurance policy.
Compliance and Accreditation: Oversee the University's response to and implementation of Council policies, quality standards, and requirements set by the Sector Ministry, National Council for Higher Education, or other relevant quality assurance bodies. Ensure that the University's academic programs are continually updated and validated.
Technical Support and Monitoring: Provide technical and professional support to various academic and administrative units in implementing and enhancing quality assurance systems. Monitor and evaluate quality assurance requirements for teaching, learning, research, and community outreach programs.
Audits and Assessments: Organize and participate in conducting audits, surveys, and assessments to evaluate compliance with quality standards and regulatory requirements. Coordinate the conduct of quality management system audits and conformity assessments by External Advisors and certification bodies.
Reporting and Communication: Prepare and submit periodic reports on quality assurance audits in accordance with the University's quality assurance policy. Communicate quality management targets, shortfalls, remedial measures, and improved processes and procedures.
Stakeholder Engagement and Training: Develop and maintain links with appropriate regulatory bodies, external agencies, and networks with other higher education institutions on quality assurance. Oversee and participate in the sensitization, education, and training of staff and other stakeholders in Quality Management Systems.
Issue Investigation: Investigate quality issues, non-conformances, and complaints, implementing corrective actions to prevent recurrence.

The Principal Quality Assurance Officer is responsible for planning, implementing, and continually improving the quality management systems of the University in conformity with nationally and internationally accepted standards.
