- Providing technical support and guidance in preparation and review of National and Regional Physical Development Plans;
- Providing technical support, support supervision and capacity building and training programmes to Local Governments and other stakeholders;
- Drafting and submitting workplans, budgets and performance reports for the Division to the Assistant Commissioner;
- Monitoring and enforcing adherence to physical planning policies, standards and regulations by Local Governments and other stakeholders and reporting to the Assistant Commissioner for action;
- Supervising, mentoring and appraising the performance of subordinate staff of the Division;
- Any other duties that may be assigned from time to time
Qualifications: - Applicants should be Ugandans holding an Honours Bachelorâs Degree in Physical Planning; or Land Use Planning; or Urban and Regional Planning; or Urban Planning; or Urban Design; or Geography; or Town and Regional Planning plus a Masters Degree in Physical Planning; or Land Use Planning; or Urban and Regional Planning; or Urban Planning; or Urban Design from a recognized University/Institution.
Experience needed: Applicants should have a minimum of six (6) years relevant working experience, three (03) of which should have been served at the level of Senior Physical Planner in Government. - Providing technical team leadership in implementation of programmes and activities for research and evaluation of the effectiveness of physical planning policies, legislation, standards, regulations and guidelines;
