- Leading technical teams in implementing of urban infrastructure development programmes and activities in Local Governments;
- Coordinating provision of technical Supporting, Supporting supervision, guidance and training to local governments, other stakeholders and the general public on urban infrastructure development in the Country;
- Drafting and submitting work plans, budgets and performance reports for the Division and report to the Assistant Commissioner;
- Monitoring and enforcing adherence to urban infrastructure policies, standards and regulations by local governments and other stakeholders and report to the Assistant Commissioner for action;
- Providing input on urban infrastructure design and development during the review and development of urban planning and development policies, legislation, standards, regulations and guidelines;
- Supervising, mentoring and appraising the performance of the Junior staff of the urban development Department;
- Monitoring and supervising urban infrastructure designs and development programmes, Project and activities in local Governments;
- Any other duties that may be assigned from time to time.
Qualifications or requirements: - Applicants should be Ugandans holding an Honours Bachelorâs Degree in Civil Engineering plus a Masters Degree in Civil Engineering; or Urban Planning; or Urban and Regional Planning; or Spatial Planning; or Urban Governance and Management; or Urban Development and Management from a recognized University/Institution.
Experience needed: - Applicants should have a minimum of six (6) years working experience, three (3) of which should have been served at Senior Officer level in an environment involving Urban infrastructure development, urban development and management in Government.
- Providing technical team leadership in the implementation of policies, legislation, standards, regulations and guidelines for urban infrastructure development in the Country;
- Leading technical teams in implementing of urban infrastructure development programmes and activities in Local Governments;
- Coordinating provision of technical Supporting, Supporting supervision, guidance and training to local governments, other stakeholders and the general public on urban infrastructure development in the Country;
