Duties and Responsibilities
- Assisting in the leadership and management of the division and in the overall implementation of the policy initiatives, programmes, and strategies in respect of PTE
- Participating in designing, developing and regularly reviewing Primary Teacher Education Curriculum and Assessment in liaison with the National curriculum Development Centre, UNITE and UNEB
- Identifying and analysing training and development of programme needs
- Administering training and staff development programmes for the Primary Teacher Institution staff
- Any other duties that may be assigned by Assistant Commissioner, Pre-primary and Primary Teacher Education or any other higher authorities.
Competencies
- Demonstrated ability in: Planning, organizing and coordinating policy and Strategy reviews, formulation and development; establishing and maintain strategic alliances and collaboration mechanisms; leadership, teamwork and networking; Negotiations and Communicating effectively.
- Exposure and understanding/appreciation of issues of Technical Education management and development.
- Incumbent should be of high morals and integrity.
Qualifications and Work Experience
- A minimum of an Honor's Bachelor's Degree Primary Teacher Education from a recognized University / Institution.
- Any other relevant professional qualifications will be an added advantage.
- Registered as teacher with the Ministry of Education and Sports.
- A minimum of Six (6) years working experience, three (3) of which should have been at the level of Senior Education Officer, Scale U3.
