Summary Date Posted: Thursday, December 31, 2020 , Base Salary: Not Disclosed JOB DETAILS: The Infectious Diseases Research Collaboration (IDRC) seeks to hire a suitable candidate to fill the position of PREVENTION COORDINATOR for a new project called SEARCH SAPPHIRE. . Purpose of position (Job Summary) The Prevention Coordinator for the SEARCH SAPPHIRE project is responsible for the day-day running of the SEARCH SAPPHIRE prevention trials in SW Uganda study sites. S/he will oversee research participants' recruitment and enrolment, conduct research data collection, in addition to medical-administration duties such as providing leadership to Clinical Officers, Nurses, Midwives and Community Health workers (Village Health Team) who will be working on the Prevention Trials. Duties and Responsibilities • Coordinate and oversee the SEARCH Sapphire Prevention trials in Western Uganda health facilities and communities. • Work closely with the field coordinator to ensure that prevention trials are carried out smoothly • Ensure that the research data collected are accurate and adhere to the study protocol in accordance with Good Clinical Practices • Supervise staff members working on the SEARCH Sapphire prevention trials to ensure that they deliver on their study outputs and adhere to IDRC policies • Ensuring all the regulatory documentation of the study particularly ensuring that study continuous review forms are complete and filled appropriately • Participate in training of study staff to conduct and implement the SEARCH Sapphire prevention trials using the study protocol and SOPs. • Liaise with the health facility in charge and study technical team leads to ensure the safety of study teams and study participants in the context of COVID-19 prevention measures. • Provide weekly study updates /reports to the study team as required from time to time. • Participate in weekly study meetings as scheduled by the study team. • Participate in budgeting and developing annual work plans for the study.
