Plant Hygiene & Sanitation Supervisor Details Closing Date: 2026/10/29 Reference Number: DALI-2026-0038 Job Title: Plant Hygiene & Sanitation Supervisor Job Category: Hygiene Job Type: Full Time Location, Town / City: Namanve, Mukono Job Description Lead plant hygiene and sanitation operations to maintain high standards of cleanliness, food safety, and audit readiness across production areas. Oversee the deep cleaning and sanitation of fryers, ovens, belts, and processing lines using approved food grade sanitizers. Supervise sanitation crews on shift to ensure rigorous adherence to hygiene protocols, occupational safety rules, and operational schedules. Key Duties & Responsibilities - Oversee the deep cleaning and sanitation of fryers, ovens, conveyors, and processing equipment using approved food grade sanitizers.
- Allocate shift duties to sanitation team members based on competence and workload, ensuring complete coverage of critical hygiene zones.
- Enforce strict adherence to approved cleaning procedures, chemical dilution limits, safety requirements, and sanitation inspection schedules.
- Perform ATP swab testing, pre operational inspections, and sanitation audits to verify surface cleanliness and microbiological control.
- Respond immediately to hygiene non conformances, contamination risks, or equipment stoppages, initiating containment and root cause corrective actions.
- Maintain complete, legible, and traceable shift sanitation logs, chemical consumption sheets, test results, and compliance documentation.
- Coordinate cleaning windows and handovers with production, maintenance, and quality teams to prevent delays and cross contamination.
- Ensure the correct use of personal protective equipment, chemical handling safety, and equipment lockout or tagout procedures during sanitation cycles.
Skills - CIP and COP sanitation protocol execution
- Food grade chemical handling and dilution control
- ATP swab testing and sanitation auditing
- Sanitation team supervision and shift allocation
- Hygiene documentation and audit compliance
- Root cause problem solving for sanitation deviations
Education Qualifications & Experience Education Qualifications - Bachelor's degree or Higher Diploma in Environmental Health, Food Science and Technology, Chemistry, Quality Management, Industrial Engineering, Agriculture, or a related discipline.
- Ordinary Diploma or technical qualification in Food Science, Environmental Health, Chemistry, or a closely related technical field.
- Relevant UBTEB, TVET, or professional certifications in occupational safety, hygiene, food safety, or supervisory management.
- Equivalent accredited qualifications from recognized institutions outside Uganda.
Experience 2+ years supervising sanitation crews in food processing facilities. - Oversee the deep cleaning and sanitation of fryers, ovens, conveyors, and processing equipment using approved food grade sanitizers.
