On behalf of our client SINOPEC, we are looking for a competent, skilled, and experienced Piping & Mechanical Inspector to work at site. The primary responsibilities of this position include: - Assist in compiling of company Quality Plan, Inspection, and Test Plan (ITP), and Quality Procedures and all pertained QA/QC documentation before the commencement of any fabrication/construction work.
- Witness and monitor site piping and mechanical activities, inspection, and test following the approved Quality Plan, ITP, Quality Procedures, etc.
- Follow the QA/QC management system at sites.
- Responsible for performing all aspects of piping and mechanical inspection activities with minimum supervision.
- Ensure Piping and Mechanical ITP stages are followed and complied with.
- Review IFC P&IDs, ISOs & and vessel drawings to ensure appropriate WPS are referenced with weld details and overall accuracy.
- Previous Syncrude Inspection experience is a must.
- Previous experience Tie In execution is a must.
Communication/Training - Monitor Piping and Mechanical operations and conduct required inspections work to resolve quality-related issues with workers, subcontractors, and the client.
- Communicate with management, staff, and clients the requirements of qualityâs scope of work.
- Verify that all site activities comply with the quality codes and standards.
- Coordinate with the site team on all quality issues and distribute relevant QC/QA documentation to site sub-contractors.
- Provide appropriate feedback to management regarding QA/QC matters.
- Develop inspection and test programs.
- Coordinate quality site inspections with all site teams and vendors, coordinate all non destructive testing on site, and monitor the implementation of the approved site QC plan.
- Inspect/review product material, weld quality, and testing to ensure compliance with code, standards, specifications, and QCP.
- Ensure supplies and external services comply with Strike quality control standards.
- Identify and control all NCRs while correcting with remedial action.
- Review radiographic films.
- Witness all pressure testing; finalize testing documentation.
- Ensure all quality control documentation is compiled and completed in a timely matter meeting project deadlines.
- Prepare regulatory documentation as required and provide it to the client.
Qualifications/Experience required: - Bachelorâs degrees in mechanical engineering or Trained qualifications (CSWIP 3.1/AWS CWI).
- Minimum of 10 yearsâ experience in the Oil and Gas industry specifically large construction projects, with thorough knowledge of various safety regulations, standards, procedures
- Good knowledge of codes and standards related to the Instrumentation discipline.
- Recognized level of expertise in construction discipline with a good knowledge of TOTAL E&P general specifications/Contractors in oil and gas construction projects.
- The ideal candidate shall be fully conversant with applicable Oil and Gas Industry International Codes, Standards as well as best Industry Practices.
- A good awareness of other disciplines. Significant responsibility in multi-discipline teams or projects.
- Good interpersonal and organizational skills as well as a good level of computer literacy and proficient in Microsoft Office. English mandatory
