The role involves diagnosing, treating, and managing childhood illnesses while collaborating with other healthcare professionals to promote child health and well-being. The Pediatrician will practice independently while utilizing the medical centre as a consultation facility for patients. Key Responsibilities - Conduct comprehensive medical consultations for infants, children, and adolescents.
- Diagnose, treat, and manage acute and chronic pediatric conditions.
- Monitor child growth and developmental milestones.
- Prescribe appropriate medications and treatment plans.
- Provide preventive healthcare services, including immunization guidance and health education.
- Refer patients for specialized investigations or treatment where necessary.
- Maintain accurate and confidential patient medical records.
- Educate parents and caregivers on disease prevention, nutrition, and child wellness.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure continuity of patient care.
- Adhere to professional, ethical, and regulatory standards at all times.
Qualifications & Requirements - Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBChB/MBBS) or equivalent.
- Postgraduate qualification in Pediatrics.
- Valid practicing license.
- Registered with the Uganda Medical and Dental Practitioners Council (UMDPC).
- Actively practicing as a Pediatrician.
