Job Description

Manage daily retail and wholesale depot operations in Kampala to ensure efficient commercial activity and customer satisfaction.

Oversee inventory control, stock management, and complete end of day cash reconciliations.

Lead depot personnel and uphold strict standards for safety, quality, operational compliance, and loss prevention.

Key Duties & Responsibilities

• Coordinate daily retail and wholesale depot activities, setting clear priorities and allocating tasks to team members.
• Execute and oversee point of sale operations, secure cash handling, and daily financial reconciliations.
• Supervise depot inventory levels, stock counts, and storage practices to prevent shrinkage, damage, and stockouts.
• Enforce compliance with occupational health and safety, food safety, hygiene, and depot security regulations.
• Lead and motivate depot staff through routine shift handovers, performance monitoring, and constructive feedback.
• Resolve customer inquiries, order deviations, and service issues promptly while maintaining product integrity.
• Maintain complete, legible, and traceable records including stock registers, sales reports, and cash documentation.
• Collaborate with supply chain and logistics departments to align product replenishment schedules with customer demand.

Education Qualifications & Experience

Education Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Commerce, Marketing, Management, Operations Management, Supply Chain, Procurement and Logistics, Accounting, or a directly related discipline.

Higher Diploma or Ordinary Diploma in Business Administration, Management, Commerce, Marketing, or a related commercial field.

Recognized UBTEB, TVET, or accredited technical and supervisory certifications in relevant business or operational disciplines.

Experience

At least 3 years of experience managing a retail outlet or wholesale distribution depot.
