BACKGROUND INFORMATION.
Career Options Africa Group is a HR Consultancy firm specialized in Recruitment, HR outsourcing and Immigration support in Africa with offices in Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, Rwanda, Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), Burundi, Nigeria, South Africa and South Sudan.
Our client, a logistics company, is actively seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Operations Manager to join their exceptional team.
THE JOB
As the Operations Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring accurate and effective planning of cargo dispatch.
MAIN TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES.
1. Logistics Coordination: Responsible for the allocation and coordination of all cargo to be transported by the company to its various destinations.
2. Client & Marketing Coordination: Communicate and coordinate with clients and the company marketing team on the planning, scheduling, allocation of cargo, and reporting.
3. OPS & HSE Coordination: Communicate and coordinate with the Operations team (including HSE) on planning, scheduling, allocation of cargo, and reporting.
4. Truck Monitoring: Monitor, track, and estimate all truck movements on the road with the assistance of the Company Tracking department to effectively plan turnarounds and movements.
5. Workshop Coordination: Communicate and coordinate with the Workshop Supervisor and Manager on truck and trailer availability to configure the above-mentioned operations.
6. Department Liaison: Liaise with all company departments as required to efficiently allocate trucks, trailers, drivers, and cargo to maximize turnarounds and company profitability.
7. Reporting and Advice: Advise and report on allocations, movements, and issues that affect the
efficient turnaround of the company’s trucks and trailers to maximize profitability.
8. Client RFQ Management: Ensure all Requests for Quotes (RFQs) from clients are handled in a timely manner.
9. Continuous Improvement: Provide input into Continuous Improvement Processes in operations and company operations.
10. Other Duties: Perform any other duties as may be assigned from time to time by Management.
QUALIFICATIONS
The job holder should have the following qualifications.
1. Bachelor’s degree in operations management, Business Administration or a related field
2. At least 5-8 years’ proven experience as an operations manager in the transport and logistics industry

WHAT WE ARE OFFERING THE RIGHT PERSON
We are offering a salary of UGX 11 million – UGX 12 million to the successful candidate.
