The role involves planning and delivering age-appropriate learning activities, supporting children's social, emotional, and cognitive development, and fostering positive relationships with parents and colleagues. Key Responsibilities Teaching & Learning - Plan and deliver engaging, age-appropriate lessons and learning activities.
- Promote children's cognitive, social, emotional, and physical development.
- Use creative teaching methods, including play-based learning, songs, storytelling, and educational games.
- Prepare learning materials and maintain an attractive classroom environment.
Classroom Management - Create a safe, inclusive, and child-friendly classroom.
- Supervise children during classroom activities, meals, and playtime.
- Encourage positive behaviour and good social skills.
- Maintain accurate attendance and learner progress records.
Learner Assessment & Support - Monitor and assess children's learning and developmental progress.
- Identify learners requiring additional support and implement appropriate interventions.
- Provide regular feedback to parents or guardians on children's progress.
Collaboration & Administration - Work closely with fellow teachers and school administration.
- Participate in school meetings, events, and professional development activities.
- Uphold the school's values, policies, and safeguarding standards.
Minimum Qualifications - Certificate, Diploma, or Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Development (ECD), Early Childhood Education, or a related field.
- Registration with the relevant education authorities is an added advantage.
Experience - Previous teaching experience in a nursery or early childhood learning environment is an added advantage.
