Gives oversight to a unit group/cage site, helping the Feed supervisor and covering their duties when they are off. KEY DUTIES (General) - Ensure that yourself and team adhere to health and safety practices set out by the company
- Conducting toolbox safety talks with your team daily
- Ensure that your team has the required resources needed to perform their duties
- Motivating your team to perform to their best and constantly improve, adhering to time keeping
- Ensuring that the members of your line feed their fish properly to ensure maximum growth rate and minimum FCR
- If there are any issues with any cages that these be solved and/or reported to the line manager
- Ensuring feeders are collecting and disposing mortalities correctly
- Weekly reviews of each units feeding performance with the team leader.
- Daily checks of each cage: you need to spend time with each feeder feeding each cage daily.
- Every feeder should have their empty feed bag count verified against what they fed that day.
- Placing an order of feed for your line(site) with the feed store supervisor for the following days feeding requirements
- Will also be required to feed when feeders are on leave.
- Carry out other tasks when needed as specified by the line manager
REQUIRED TECHNICAL SKILLS, TRAINING & EXPERIENCE - Bachelorâs degree in fisheries and aquaculture
- Experience with cage farming is beneficial
- Must be able to swim
- Good excel skills
PERSONAL ATTRIBUTES - Hardworking, capable of being involved in farming operations
- Good interpersonal skills
- Must be confident to give out instructions and lead a team
- Must show good endurance and persistence.
- Must have an eye for detail
- Must be willing to constantly learn more and develop their knowledge and skills
