MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES: - Provide overall leadership and execution of LIVE coverage of any broadcast while ensuring quality assurance.
- Direct the best news-related shows and programs by keeping to deadlines and ensuring studio and equipment are in working condition at all times.
- Direct the technical aspects of newscasts and other productions including taking responsibility for the on-air product including camera shots.
- Operate equipment to produce programs or broadcast LIVE programs from remote locations.
- Advise on ï¬lter options, lens choices and the visual effects of objects being ï¬lmed with Producers and Cameramen.
- Ensure newscasts are well packaged and free of errors.
- Conceptualize and deliver breaking news as fast as it happens in a minimum turnaround time.
- Collaborate with the Production & Technical teams in determining the Presentation of News Content in line with the NTV strategic Objectives.
Qualifications and Experience: Academic: Degree in Journalism and Media Studies Professional: Diploma in TV Production Experience: 2 to 3 years of working experience in TV. Core Competencies - Naturally proï¬cient in the theory and practical aspects of various lighting conï¬gurations
- A sense of news and production work
- Ability to operate studio equipment
- Ability to work under minimum supervision
- Decisive and sensitive under pressure
- Acute attention to detail and drive for perfection
- Champion of product excellence
- Ability to troubleshoot any assignment difficulties that come within area of responsibility
- Ability to work long and odd hours in a fast paced environment
- Editing skills and Camera work are an added advantage
