This post is a local position based in Uganda and located within the Women, Youth and Vulnerable Communities (WYVC) Section in the Division of Sustainable and Inclusive Trade. The post focuses on advancing Creative and Cultural Industries (CCI) as a pathway to dignified and fulfilling work for young people, especially women. This position will support WYVC projects in CCI, such as the "Enhancing Skills and Enabling Financial Inclusion for Young Women in the Creative Economyâ, a 3-year initiative that leverages Ugandaâs vibrant creative and cultural industries to expand youth employment, strengthen financial inclusion, and transform perceptions of youth and women in the creative economy. RESPONSIBILITIES: Under the overall supervision of the Head of Youth and Trade Programme and direct supervision of the Programme Management Officer, the National Associate Programme Advisor will be responsible for the following duties: ⢠Works with key clients and industry stakeholders to facilitate the development, implementation and evaluation of assigned Creative Industry activities; monitors and analyzes specific aspects of programme/project development and implementation; reviews relevant documents and reports; identifies problems and issues to be addressed and recommends corrective actions; liaises with relevant parties, including government institutions, private sector firms, industry associations and creative entrepreneurs; identifies and tracks follow-up actions. ⢠Carries out research and analysis on selected aspects of the Creative and Cultural Industries (CCI), including the entertainment sector and tourism linkages; collects, analyzes and presents statistical data, market information, and industry insights gathered from diverse sources to inform programme design and implementation. ⢠Assists in performing consulting assignments, in collaboration with clients and partners, by facilitating workshops and other interactive sessions with industry actors, government counterparts, and private sector partners, and contributes to the development of actionable plans to strengthen the CCI ecosystem. ⢠Participates in survey initiatives and market assessments; assists with the design of data collection tools for the creative economy; issues tools, reviews, analyzes and interprets responses, identifies problems/issues and prepares preliminary conclusions. ⢠Contributes to the preparation of various written outputs, such as background papers, analytical notes, sections of reports and studies, inputs to publications, and communication materials related to the Creative Industries. ⢠Provides administrative and substantive support to consultative and other meetings, conferences, and events related to the Creative Industries, including proposing agenda topics, identifying participants, preparing background documents and presentations, and handling logistics. ⢠Undertakes outreach activities and stakeholder engagement, including the development of training workshops, seminars and stakeholder dialogues; participates in and makes presentations on assigned topics/activities, strengthening networks across the entertainment, creative and tourism sectors. ⢠Participates in field missions, including provision of substantive and administrative support, data collection, stakeholder consultations and monitoring of project activities. ⢠Coordinates activities related to budget funding (programme/project preparation and submissions, progress reports, financial statements, etc.) and preparation of related documents/reports (work programme, programme budget, etc.). ⢠Performs other duties as required.
