With support from UNHCR with an objective to strengthen monitoring, accountability, and reporting under the OCHA-funded programme, Nsamizi seeks to recruit competent and experienced Monitoring & Evaluation Officers (3 Positions) with the following Duty Stations: West Nile Region (Bidibidi, Rhino Camp, Imvepi, Lobule) Contract Duration: 6 Months (Aligned to OCHA Project Implementation Period) Reports to: Country M&E&E Focal Person and WASH Coordinators JOB PURPOSE The M&E Officers will be responsible for supporting accurate data collection, verification, analysis, and reporting of project indicators in line with OCHA and UNHCR requirements, ensuring timely and high-quality reporting across all settlements. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES 3.1. Data Collection and Management - Coordinate and oversee routine data collection across assigned settlements
- Ensure accurate tracking of key OCHA indicators, including:
- Water access and service levels
- Sanitation coverage
- Hygiene promotion reach
- Support field teams in proper use of data collection tools
3.2. Reporting and Documentation - Compile and submit weekly, monthly, and periodic reports
- Ensure timely reporting into systems such as:
- ActivityInfo
- UNHCR Indicator Tools
- Maintain proper documentation for audit and donor compliance
- Produce basic maps showing project coverage, service delivery points, and beneficiary distribution
- Maintain simple geospatial databases and ensure their accuracy.
- Collaborate with senior IM/GIS staff where advanced mapping is required.
3.3. Data Quality Assurance - Conduct data verification and validation exercises
- Ensure consistency between field data and reported outputs
- Identify and correct data gaps or discrepancies
3.4. Monitoring and Field Support - Conduct regular field visits to monitor implementation progress
- Support WASH teams in tracking performance against targets
- Provide feedback to improve programme delivery
3.5. Coordination and Capacity Building - Report regularly to the M&E Manager on progress, challenges, and data insights
- Work closely with:
- WASH Coordinators
- Engineers and Public Health teams
- Program teams
- Other implementing and Operational partners and relevant stakeholders
- Train field staff and community structures on data collection and reporting
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS - Bachelorâs degree in:
- Statistics
- Monitoring & Evaluation
EXPERIENCE - Minimum 3â5 yearsâ experience in M&E within humanitarian or development programmes
- Experience in WASH programming is an added advantage
- Proven experience with donor reporting (OCHA, UNHCR, or similar)
TECHNICAL COMPETENCIES - Strong skills in:
- Data collection, analysis and interpretation.
- Result-Based indicator tracking and reporting.
- Use of M&E tools and databases
- Proficiency in:
- MS Excel and reporting tools
- ActivityInfo or similar systems
BEHAVIOURAL COMPETENCIES - High level of integrity and accountability
- Strong attention to detail
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
- Good interpersonal and communication skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving ability
WORKING CONDITIONS - Field-based with frequent travel across settlements
- Ability to work in remote and challenging environments
