Job Title: Midwife Reports to: In-Charge Maternity Position Summary: The Midwife is responsible for providing health care to women of childbearing age, including prenatal care, pregnancy, childbirth education, and performing other tasks as allocated by the direct supervisor. Roles and Responsibilities: - Labor Support: Provide emotional support and guidance during labor, monitor progress, and help with decision-making.
- Postnatal Care: Ensure the physical and emotional health of the mother and baby, including support with feeding and caring for the baby.
- Prenatal Care: Assist with antenatal assessments and prenatal care for expectant mothers.
- Health Screening: Provide periodic health screenings.
- Transfer of Care: Facilitate the transfer of care to another health facility when necessary.
- Family Planning: Engage in activities that promote family planning and proper nutrition.
- High-Risk Pregnancies: Identify high-risk pregnancies, make referrals to doctors and other medical specialists, and arrange and provide parenting and health education.
Education and Experience: - A Diploma in Midwifery.
- A minimum of two yearsâ experience working in a similar role in a busy setting.
