This is a full-time position offering a unique opportunity to impact the lives of high-need youths and contribute to the mission of providing educational and emotional support to students who have lost one or both parents. Find out more here. Role Overview The Program Coordinator will lead all Care Program-related duties, managing and directing a small team to deliver exceptional MHPSS to our beneficiaries. This role involves program coordination, administration, strategic planning, reporting, and representation. The successful candidate will ensure the Care Program meets its objectives and aligns with the broader goals of Ashinaga Uganda.
Key information Title: Program Coordinator. Starting date: May 5th 2025. Initial 1-year contract, with possibility of renewal. Days of Duty: 5 days/week, including Saturday, with 2 days off/week. Reports To: Co-Director. Working Hours: 09:00 am - 5:00 pm. Compensation and Benefits · Salary to be discussed during the interview process · 21 days of annual leave, which can be carried over for one year. · Individual medical insurance. · Monthly airtime allowance.
Key Responsibilities 1. Program Coordination (50%) · Design and implement engaging curricula for child beneficiaries. · Develop and manage the program's annual schedules. · Coordinate with interns and volunteers to optimize service delivery. · Provide direct support to all registered beneficiaries. · Collaborate with guardians and other stakeholders involved in programming. · Create and analyse child-friendly surveys to assess program impact. · Manage program-related data to report and present globally. 2. Administration (30%) · Oversee and ensure the accuracy of all Care Program-related administrative tasks, such as catering services, transportation, and communication with stakeholders. 3. Strategy (15%) · Collaborate with the Co-Director of Rainbow House and the Care Program team to address current and future organizational needs. · Ensure alignment of services with organizational goals and existing frameworks. · Drive continuous improvement in service delivery for beneficiaries.
4. Reporting and Representation (5%) · Prepare occasional reports for internal and external stakeholders. · Represent the Care Program team in organizational and external meetings as required.
Educational and Experience Requirements Essentials: · Bachelor's Degree in Social Sciences (Psychosocial Development, Psychology, Counselling, or Social Work and Social Administration). · Experience in program coordination, preferably in MHPSS or educational setting. · Exceptional written and verbal communication skills in English and Luganda. · Advanced proficiency in MS (Excel, PowerPoint, and Word).
Desirables: · Previous experiences in Child Protection. · A masterâs degree in the above-mentioned degrees.

Recruitment process Phase 1: Computer Literacy tests In this phase, we will assess your computer skills proficiency. Phase 2: Psychosocial Programming Assessment In this phase, your ability to coordinate and manage MHPSS programs will be evaluated. Phase 3: The Oral Interview In this phase, we will assess your overall fit as Care Program lead, as well as your communication skills, critical thinking and alignment to Ashinaga Ugandaâs mission.
