JOB DETAILS: About the Role As a Metering Engineer, you will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy, reliability, and efficiency of metering systems used in hydrocarbon measurement and allocation. You will work closely with operations and maintenance teams to manage, calibrate, and troubleshoot metering equipment while ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations. Key Responsibilities • Oversee the installation, maintenance, and calibration of flow meters, gas chromatographs, and related equipment for oil, gas, and water measurement. • Ensure compliance with industry standards (e.g., ISO, API) and regulatory requirements for metering systems. • Perform diagnostic checks and troubleshoot metering systems to resolve any performance or accuracy issues. • Collaborate with engineering, operations, and field teams to optimize metering processes and systems. • Conduct audits and verification of metering systems to ensure proper hydrocarbon accounting and allocation. • Prepare and maintain detailed reports on metering system performance, calibration records, and compliance checks. • Train and mentor junior engineers or technicians in metering system operations and maintenance. • Stay up-to-date with advancements in metering technologies and recommend upgrades or modifications as needed. Qualifications and Skills Essential: • Degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Instrumentation, or a related engineering field. • Proven experience (5+ years) in metering systems within the Oil & Gas sector. • Strong knowledge of flow measurement technologies, calibration methods, and data analysis. • Familiarity with industry standards such as ISO, API, and regulatory frameworks. • Ability to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to metering equipment. • Excellent communication and report-writing skills. Desirable: • Experience with software tools used for metering and hydrocarbon allocation. • Knowledge of advanced technologies such as ultrasonic and Coriolis flow meters. • Prior experience in an expat or residential role in a remote location. • Certifications in instrumentation or metering-related fields.
