Job Summary (Main Purpose)
The Medical Rider is responsible for the timely and safe transportation of laboratory samples and other healthcare-related materials between clinics, laboratories, and patient locations, ensuring adherence to healthcare safety and confidentiality standards.
Main Duties/Responsibilities
â– Pick up and deliver laboratory samples, test results, and consumables between clinics, laboratories, hospitals, and patient homes.
â– Ensure that all materials are transported under appropriate conditions (e.g., temperature control for samples)
â– Maintain accurate records of deliveries and collections using delivery logs or digital tools.
â– Obtain sign offs and ensure proper documentation for each delivery and pick up
â– Follow all safety, infection prevention, and confidentiality protocols.
â– Ensure adherence to traffic laws and company policies.
â– Conduct daily checks on the assigned motorcycle to ensure it is in good working condition
â– Report any maintenance needs or damages immediately.
â– Work with and interact with healthcare staff and patients professionally.
â– Handle queries or delivery issues promptly and escalate as necessary.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Valid motorcycle license (Class A) with a clean driving record.
- Should have good phlebotomy skills.
- At least 1 year of experience in a similar role, preferably in the healthcare or courier industry.
- Basic knowledge of medical sample handling and cold chain protocols is an added advantage.
- Minimum of O-Level (UCE) education with a certificate in medical laboratory or any related medical field
