The role ensures quality control, proper equipment maintenance, and timely delivery of laboratory results in coordination with the imaging center's services. Key Responsibilities: Specimen Collection & Processing: - Collect blood, urine, and other specimens using appropriate techniques (venipuncture, capillary, etc.).
- Process and prepare specimens for analysis according to established protocols.
- Perform routine laboratory tests in hematology, clinical chemistry, microbiology, and urinalysis.
Quality Assurance: - Conduct quality control checks on reagents, equipment, and test results.
- Maintain and calibrate laboratory equipment in accordance with manufacturer guidelines.
- Identify and report any discrepancies or equipment malfunctions promptly.
Documentation & Reporting: - Accurately record test results and maintain patient confidentiality.
- Prepare and release laboratory reports in a timely manner.
- Ensure proper labeling, storage, and disposal of specimens and hazardous materials.
Qualifications & Experience: - Diploma in Medical Laboratory Technology from a recognized institution.
- Registered with the Allied Health Professionals Council with a valid practicing license.
- Minimum 1â2 years of experience in a clinical laboratory setting.
- Proficiency in phlebotomy and basic laboratory procedures.
Competencies: - Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Knowledge of laboratory safety and infection control practices.
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure.
- Good organizational and record-keeping skills.
