Job Title:  Mechanical Technician Organisation: Microhaem Scientifics Duty Station: Kampala, Uganda About the Company: Established in 2012, Microhaem Scientifics is the first indigenous IVD test Kits manufacturer in the Great Lakes Region of Africa and one of the leading medical supplies company strategically located in Kampala, Uganda. The company’s manufacturing portfolio includes Point of Care tests, Molecular Diagnostics tests and Research and development in the neglected tropical diseases. Key Duties and Responsibilities: - System Repair: Diagnose and repair issues in HVAC systems, air conditioners, and compressors to ensure reliable performance. Perform corrective repairs as needed to restore equipment to full functionality.
- Installation: Install HVAC systems, including compressors, air conditioning units, and ventilation equipment, in compliance with manufacturer specifications and company standards.
- System Testing: Conduct tests on HVAC systems to identify malfunctions, confirm operational integrity, and ensure performance standards are consistently met.
- Troubleshooting: Accurately diagnose mechanical and electrical issues in HVAC systems. Use diagnostic tools to determine the root cause of equipment failures and implement effective solutions.
- Preventative Maintenance: Follow a scheduled preventative maintenance program for all HVAC and refrigeration equipment to avoid breakdowns, improve efficiency, and extend equipment lifespan.
- Safety Compliance: Adhere to company, industry, and local safety standards and regulations, identifying and reporting any safety issues in the field to ensure a safe working environment.
- Any other duties as may be assigned by the supervisor
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- Education: Minimum Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, HVAC, or related field.
- Experience: 5 years with HVAC systems, air conditioners, and compressors.
- Skills: Strong knowledge of HVAC and refrigeration systems; skilled in repairing, and maintaining mechanical components.
