The role involves diagnosing tire-related issues, performing preventive maintenance, and providing excellent customer service while adhering to safety standards. Key Duties and Responsibilities - Inspect tires, wheels, and related components for wear, damage, punctures, and alignment issues.
- Mount, dismount, repair, and replace tires on various types of vehicles.
- Perform wheel balancing to ensure smooth vehicle operation and prevent premature tire wear.
- Conduct wheel alignment checks and adjustments using specialized equipment.
- Repair punctured tires and assess whether tires can be safely repaired or require replacement.
- Rotate tires according to manufacturer recommendations and customer requirements.
- Check and maintain proper tire pressure levels.
- Inspect wheel bearings, suspension, and steering components that may affect tire performance.
- Diagnose causes of uneven tire wear and recommend corrective actions.
- Ensure all wheel nuts and bolts are properly tightened to specified torque standards.
- Maintain tire service equipment and tools in good working condition.
- Keep accurate records of repairs, maintenance activities, and parts used.
- Follow workplace safety procedures and use personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the workshop and service area.
Qualifications and Requirements - Certificate or Diploma in Automotive Mechanics or a related field.
- Proven experience in tire fitting, wheel balancing, and wheel alignment.
