Supply of Mushroom Starter Kits, Construction of Mushroom Grow Houses, Installation of Solar Dryers and Delivery of Technical Training in Rukiga and Rubirizi Districts, Uganda International Crane Foundation (ICF) invites Expressions of Interest (EOIs) from qualified firms, organizations, agricultural enterprises, cooperatives, and consortiums to support the establishment of sustainable mushroom enterprises for community groups in Rukiga and Rubirizi Districts, Uganda. Scope of Assignment The successful bidder will be responsible for: - Supply and delivery of 13 complete mushroom starter kits to beneficiary groups.
- Construction of 13 low-cost mushroom growing houses (approximately 12ft x 8ft), each capable of accommodating about 500 mushroom grow bags.
- Supply, installation, testing, and commissioning of three (3) 5x3ft mushroom solar dryers for selected groups in Rubirizi District.
- Delivery of practical training in mushroom production, enterprise development, post-harvest handling, business management, and market development for all beneficiary groups.
- Specialized training in mushroom value addition, solar drying, packaging, food safety, quality control, and marketing.
Beneficiaries and Locations The project will support 13 community groups, comprising 8 groups in Rukiga District and 5 groups in Rubirizi District. Key Deliverables The contractor shall provide: - Mushroom starter kits supplied and handed over to all beneficiary groups.
- Construction and completion of 13 low-cost mushroom grow houses.
- Installation and commissioning of 3 mushroom solar dryers.
- Delivery of practical mushroom production and value addition training.
- Orientation on operation, maintenance, hygiene, troubleshooting, and enterprise management.
- Joint inspection, commissioning, handover documentation, and a comprehensive final report.
Minimum Requirements Interested firms must demonstrate: - At least five (5) yearsâ experience in mushroom production, agribusiness, agricultural extension, community enterprise development, or related livelihoods programming.
- Proven experience supplying mushroom production equipment, constructing production facilities, and implementing similar livelihood projects.
- Experience delivering farmer training and technical capacity-building programmes.
- Availability of qualified technical experts and evidence of successful completion of similar assignments.
- Valid business registration and tax compliance documentation.
Submission Requirements Interested firms should submit: - Technical Proposal outlining company profile, methodology, implementation approach, work plan, staffing, qualifications, relevant experience, and client references.
- Financial Proposal with detailed costs for supply, transportation, construction, installation, training, taxes, and after-sales support services.
Evaluation Criteria Proposals will be evaluated based on: - Technical competence and methodology
- Relevant organizational experience
- Qualifications of key personnel
- Similar project experience
- Delivery capacity
- Financial competitiveness
