AFI focuses on a multi-faceted approach to address food insecurity, malnutrition, health, WASH, environment, gender protection, and research. The organization has established partnerships with the government, industrialists, and local communities and has engaged in humanitarian efforts for international non-governmental organizations (INGOs) and UN agencies. AFI is actively seeking for experienced and qualified candidates to fill the position of MEAL Assistant. Key Duties and Responsibilities - Conduct regular school visits to verify enrolment, attendance, FSQ/moisture-monitoring compliance, parental contribution records and digital stock entries.
- Support monthly sub-county Data Validation Clinics, reconciling school-level ledgers and digital entries before migration into the District Education Management Information System (EMIS).
- Support data entry, cleaning and validation of school feeding data, ensuring accuracy and completeness ahead of quarterly DQA sessions with District Planning Units and EMIS focal points.
- Compile accurate weekly, monthly and quarterly MEAL reports on school feeding indicators (FSQ compliance, parental contribution increase, SHN integration) for the MEAL Officer.
- Compile accurate weekly, monthly and quarterly MEAL reports on school feeding indicators (FSQ compliance, parental contribution increase, SHN integration) for the MEAL Officer.
- Support compilation of inputs for quarterly Technical Reports to WFP and District Executive Committees, and for quarterly Learning Insights briefs to the National School Feeding Working Group.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience - Bachelorsâ Degree in Quantitative Economic, Statistics, or any related field from an approved, recognized and reputable academic institution.
- A post graduate Diploma in Monitoring and Evaluation is an added Advantage.
- At least two (2) years of working experience in Monitoring and Evaluation, data collection, school feeding or nutrition programmes. Knowledge of accountability mechanism and reporting systems.
- Fluency in written and spoken English is a MUST. Working knowledge of Ngâakaramajong and other languages spoken in the Karamoja region will be an added advantage
- Having a valid Riding permit is an added advantage.
