Operational Responsibilities/Tasks - Recommending initiatives to be incorporated into the annual Marketing Work Plan for the Uganda market segment.
- Monitoring business and customer trends in the Uganda market segment to inform initiatives to enhance market share.
- Monitoring and analysing traffic, throughput, market share trends and competitor activities.
- Providing customer and market insights for incorporation into reports/concept papers/proposals/interim memos for management.
- Articulating insights on pricing and service differentiation to inform the development of Customer Value Proposition (CVP) and packaging Unique Selling Points (USPs) for the assigned market segment.
- Undertaking customer visits to gather feedback, consolidate insights with the objective of sustaining business growth and enhancing market share.
- Establishing a reliable database for customer analysis and effective targeting for the assigned market segment.
- Organizing, coordinating and participating in trade fairs, exhibitions, workshops, conferences to monitor, improve service delivery and promote the organization.
- Compiling market intelligence and relaying timely feedback to guide decision-making with the aim of growing port throughput and improving service delivery.
- Updating customers on port services, facilities, trade facilitation initiatives, tariffs and any other relevant information.
- Coordinating with relevant functional areas on implementation of Business Process Improvement (BPI) programmes.
- Preparing reports for marketing activities undertaken for the assigned market segment e.g., customer visit, traffic analysis, commodity trend analysis, competitor analysis, trade fairs, surveys etc.
Person Specifications - Bachelor of Commerce (Marketing Option), Bachelors degree in Business Management/Administration or equivalent from a recognized institution.
- Proficiency in computer applications.
- At least three (3) years work experience.

- Clearance from The Inspectorate of Government (IGG) and
- Report from The Inspectorate of Government (IGG)
