JOB DETAILS:

Applicants should be Ugandans holding an Honours Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering; or equivalent qualification in Marine Transport from a recognized University /Institution.

Working Experience

Duties
The incumbent will be responsible to the Senior Licensing Officer for performing the following duties:-

-        Participating in formulation of policies and strategies intended to promote safety and efficiency of water transport;

-        Licensing marine vessels;

-        Supervising manning of vessels, qualifications and training of seafarers and issuance of relevant certificates related to manning of vessels;

-        Assisting in planning, monitoring and evaluation of training programmes against any maritime conventions;

-        Assisting in management of training, recruitment and welfare of seafarers;

-        Any other duties as may be assigned from time to time.

Work Hours: 8
