The successful candidate will be responsible for devising, establishing and Implementing safety and quality procedures, standards and specifications. S/he will promote continuous improvement in Safety and Quality processes & procedures across TMHS and Customer operations while ensuring compliance with relevant standards and prepare reports as required. Responsibilities - Design and implement departmental strategies, policies, guidelines, procedures and set goals for growth
- Set and implement sales plans, maintain budgets and optimize expenses
- Identify and tender for contracts within the departments scope
- Oversee, monitor, evaluate, control and carry out frequent inspection and testing of company OHS systems to ensure they operate efficiently and effectively.
- Manage PPE inventory turnover and ensure stock availability for high-demand items
- Develop and update guidelines, manuals, forms and checklists for use across the
- Identify, attain, update and maintain necessary certifications and accreditations required for the company to conduct OHS works and quality services
- Identify, lobby and liaise with companies, institutions, firms, organizations requiring OHS services to secure contracts for the company.
- Lead OHS consultancy audits for corporate
- Ensure timely delivery of accredited courses
- Plan, organize, coordinate and supervise all OHS works and supplies to ensure compliance with SOPâs, legal requirements and achieve customer satisfaction.
- Attend short courses and other professional development programs to maintain up-to-date skills, accreditations and knowledge necessary to execute the departmentâs scope of work in line with international standards.
- Prepare quality trend reports that explain the status of quality levels of staff, systems and all TMHS activities.
- Prepare and submit timely reports to management as may be required from time to time
- Manage departmental assets to ensure they are well maintained, safeguarded and remain productive
- Work collaboratively with other departments to ensure continued smooth operations and effective service delivery
- Perform any other tasks as may be assigned by management from time to time
Qualifications & Experience Minimum: - Bachelorâs degree in Occupational Safety & Health, Environmental Science, or a related
- 3+ yearsâ in senior management, including a commercial/BD role (managing tenders, client contracts, or sales targets).
- Experience in HSE service provision, including direct experience in:
- Safety wear / PPE sales or procurement,
- Proposal / bid writing for HSE-related contracts,
- Supporting OHS training or
- Good understanding of local OHS regulations and extractive industry safety standards
Added advantage: - MBA or Sales/Marketing certificate
- NEBOSH or IOSH
- Basic knowledge of ISO 45001 and/or ISO
- Existing network of corporate HSE directors in the extractive
- Deep familiarity with extractive industry and corporate engagements
