Key Activities and Responsibilities - Conduct routine inspection and maintenance of hospital facilities and equipment.
- Diagnose and repair faults within the technician's area of competence.
- Carry out preventive and corrective maintenance.
- Respond promptly to reported maintenance faults.
- Maintain electrical, plumbing, mechanical, building, or other technical systems as qualified.
- Assist with installation and replacement of equipment and components.
- Maintain maintenance records and work reports.
- Ensure tools and equipment are used safely and maintained appropriately.
- Follow occupational health and safety requirements.
- Observe infection prevention procedures when working in clinical areas.
- Identify hazards and report unsafe conditions.
- Support emergency maintenance requirements.
- Liaise with contractors and service providers where required.
- Maintain adequate stocks of maintenance materials and report shortages.
- Carry out other technical duties assigned by management.
Qualifications and Experience - Relevant technical qualification in Electrical, Mechanical, Plumbing, Building, Biomedical, or another appropriate maintenance discipline.
- Relevant professional certification or licence where required.
- Practical maintenance experience is desirable.
- Ability to troubleshoot faults and work independently.
