Job Summary: The Maintenance Planner is responsible for developing, scheduling, and coordinating preventive and corrective maintenance activities to ensure optimal performance, reliability, and safety of equipment and facilities in a fast-paced FMCG manufacturing environment. This role focuses on minimizing downtime, optimizing resource allocation, and supporting production goals while adhering to quality, safety, and regulatory standards. Key Duties and Responsibilities: Planning and Scheduling - Develop detailed maintenance plans, schedules, and work orders using computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) such as SAP or similar tools
- Prioritize tasks based on equipment criticality, production demands, and resource availability to minimize disruptions in FMCG production processes.
Preventive Maintenance - Design and implement preventive maintenance programs for machinery, including packaging lines, processing equipment, conveyors, and utilities (e.g., boilers, compressors, HVAC systems)
- Monitor and adjust schedules to extend asset life and reduce unplanned breakdowns.
Corrective Maintenance - Analyze breakdown reports, root cause failures, and historical data to plan corrective actions.
- Coordinate with technicians, engineers, and suppliers to ensure timely repairs and parts availability.
Resource Management - Forecast and procure spare parts, tools, and materials while managing inventory levels to avoid stockouts or excess.
- Allocate labor resources efficiently, including internal teams and external contractors.
Compliance and Safety - Ensure all maintenance activities comply with FMCG industry regulations (e.g., FDA, HACCP, ISO standards), environmental guidelines, and occupational health and safety protocols.
- Conduct risk assessments and promote a culture of safety.
Data Analysis and Reporting - Track key performance indicators (KPIs) such as mean time between failures (MTBF), mean time to repair (MTTR), and overall equipment effectiveness (OEE)
- Generate reports on maintenance metrics and recommend improvements to enhance operational efficiency.
Training and Support - Provide guidance and training to maintenance staff on planning tools and best practices. Support emergency response during off-hours as needed.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience: - Diploma or Bachelorâs Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering or a related technical field.
- Minimum 4â7 years of experience in similar role a manufacturing environment, preferably in FMCG, beverage, or food industry.
- Hands-on experience with CMMS systems (SAP PM, Maximo, or similar) for work order management, scheduling, and reporting.
- Strong understanding of preventive, predictive, and condition-based maintenance strategies.
- Knowledge of food safety standards (GMP, HACCP) and maintenance in regulated environments.
