Job Description/Requirements Position: Machine Operator (01). Report to: Ware House Manager. Experience Length: 3 years. Nature of Job: Contractual basis. Job Location: Jinja city. Who are we? Our client Ltd is a social business set up to improve farmers’ livelihoods brought the promotion of organic farming of nutritional crops for the export markets of Europe, USA and all around the world. We are now seeking to recruit a machine operator to join our team. Purpose; Machine Operator will take care of all machine-specific functions such as configuring the equipment, loading and operating the machines, and optimizing the machine capability. Machine Operator needs to ensure that machine works at its full capacity, oversee its maintenance, and perform timely quality checks.Our client puts we integrity, people, excellence and teamwork at the heart of everything they do Core Duties and Responsibilities. - Calibrate the machine before production begins.Â
- Operate the entire machine line efficiently with less or no wastage.Â
- Ensure that machines are regularly checked and cleaned.Â
- Monitor and Control the machine performance and settings.Â
- Regularly conducts tests of the machine performance and operating capacity.Â
- Inspect machinery with appropriate tools.Â
- Feed raw materials into semi-automated machine and help to assemble the processing line. ?Â
- Fix any issues or malfunctions that may occur.Â
- Check the output of the machines and identify any issues.Â
- Keep an updated database on all of the machines information, defective units and final products. ? Maintain a log book of the activity.Â
- Regularly submits performance reports.Â
- Bagging or wrapping purchases to ensure safe transportation of materials.Â
- Following all store procedures regarding the purchase of specific items, such as packing bags, Weighing scales andÂ
Other equipment. - Maintaining a clean workspace.
- Plan to carry out preventive maintenance of production machines with the assistance of the Engineering team.Â
- Control wastage of materials and recycling.Â
- Ensuring that the products produced are of good quality.Â
- Adhere to Health and Safety practices.Â
- Implement the Food Safety Management System that is to do with ISO/HACCP, UNBS.Â
- Detect and report any faults to the line manager.Â
Qualifications, Skills, and Experience. - A candidate should at least possess a national diploma or degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering.Â
- Experience in a similar role or industry would be an added advantage.Â
- Excellent communication skills both written and verbal with a passion for agriculture. ?Â
- Knowledge of computer applications – MS Word & Office with proficiency in Excel is desirable. ?Â
- High levels of attention to detail and integrity.Â
- Can-do attitude with the ability to work well with all functions and levels in the organization. ?Â
- Mechanical or Electrical ability, Physical strength, and stamina.Â
- The ability to work in high places.Â
- Creativity and the ability to get along well with co-workers.Â
- The ability to keep up to date with the changing technology.Â
