As the Lodge Manager, you will lead a team of 50 and be responsible for the smooth running of the lodge to ensure that every guest staying at Murchison River Lodge (MRL) has an unforgettable experience.

Key Responsibilities:
•      Lead and motivate the dedicated team to deliver the highest level of service and customer satisfaction.
•      Encourage personal growth and development with the team by offering regular training opportunities.
•      Liaise with department heads to ensure guest satisfaction and to constantly strive to improve guest experiences, wherever possible.
•      Liaise with department heads to ensure the smooth functioning of the lodge including (but not limited to) the highest standards of cleanliness, safety and efficiency.
•      Ensure all policies, procedures and best practices are adhered to by the entire team.
•      Build and maintain relationships with existing and new agents and guests, sharing both positive feedback and constructive feedback with the Directors and Head Office.
•      Liaise with the Directors and Head Office to improve procedures and efficiency.
•      Provide all required daily, weekly and monthly reports to Directors and Head Office, as required.
•      Have a keen eye for detail on the financial performance to ensure cost effectiveness across all areas of operation.
•      Have a critical eye to notice all improvements required across the lodge including both guest and staff areas.

Experience Required:
This position is a long-term role, which will appeal to anyone who is adventurous and sociable yet committed to running a successful lodge professionally and reliably.
You should have extensive experience in Africa and a strong background within the hospitality industry. You should be a strong leader and positive mentor with a quick head for logistics and problem solving in a remote location.
You must be presentable with a good sense of humour and able to professionally interact with a diverse range of guests.

Requirements:
•      Hospitality experience, preferably within Africa.
•      Proven leadership experience within the hospitality industry.
•      Exceptional communication skills both in person and online.
•      Proven experience of team motivation and mentorship.
•      A valid driving license would be an advantage.
•      A passion for conservation and sustainable tourism practices is desirable.
•      Previous experience in Uganda would be an advantage.
•      Knowledge of another language (Dutch or German) would be a distinct advantage.
