Purpose of the Role To ensure efficient access to information resources, support teaching, learning and research, and provide strategic leadership for library services. Key Responsibilities - Plan and implement library projects and programs.
- Develop library collections in consultation with academic departments.
- Chair Library Committee meetings.
- Monitor developments in information science.
- Oversee library databases and information systems.
- Coordinate with ICT and other information service providers.
- Support staff development and training.
- Supervise library staff and conduct meetings.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Experience - Bachelor's Degree in Library and Information Science, Information Management, Records Management, Library Studies, or related field.
- At least 2â3 years' experience in library management or information services.
- Experience in cataloguing, classification, archiving, and information resource management.
Core Competencies - Library management and administration.
- Information resource management.
- Database and information systems management.
- Leadership and staff supervision.
- Collaboration and stakeholder engagement.
- Knowledge of emerging information science trends.
Application Requirements - Master's Degree in Library and Information Science or related discipline is an added advantage.
- Membership in a recognized professional library association is desirable.
- Experience in academic, research, public, or special libraries preferred.
