- Agent Support Advisor (Agent Banking)
Both roles focus on driving business growth, acquiring and retaining customers, building relationships, and ensuring compliance with banking policies and regulations. Role 1: Universal Retail Lead Generator Purpose - Grow the branch's retail business by:
- Selling consumer lending products
- Selling retail asset and liability products
- Generating and converting quality sales leads
- Growing business with both new and existing customers
Key Responsibilities 1. Sales & Business Development (80%) - Achieve assigned sales targets
- Identify customer needs and recommend suitable products
- Cross-sell banking products
- Generate and convert quality leads
- Submit accurate customer applications
- Comply with operational risk, KYC and Anti-Money Laundering (AML) requirements
2. Customer Service (10%) - Deliver excellent customer service
- Process customer applications promptly
- Resolve customer complaints and queries
- Escalate unresolved issues to the Line Manager
- Collaborate with Operations, Credit and KYC teams
3. Compliance & Operational Excellence (10%) - Ensure accuracy of customer documentation
- Maintain KYC compliance
- Support successful audit outcomes
- Follow account opening procedures
- Comply with operational risk and AML policies
Role 2: Agent Support Advisor (Agent Banking) Purpose - Support the growth and success of ABSA's Agent Banking network by:
- Recruiting new agents
- Retaining existing agents
- Managing agent relationships
- Supporting agent banking operations
- Expanding business opportunities
Key Responsibilities 1. Business Growth & Retention (60%) - Recruit and onboard profitable agents
- Develop relationships with businesses and customers
- Identify cross-selling opportunities
- Grow revenue from existing agents
- Negotiate pricing and contracts
- Ensure accurate application submissions
- Maintain compliance with KYC and AML requirements
2. Customer Service (30%) - Deliver excellent customer service
- Resolve customer and agent issues promptly
- Build long-term customer relationships
- Understand customer business needs
- Recommend product improvements
- Support agents with terminal functionality and Agent Banking systems
- Work closely with Operations, Credit and KYC teams
3. Compliance & Operational Excellence (10%) - Ensure accurate agent onboarding documentation
- Maintain KYC compliance
- Follow agent onboarding procedures
- Escalate unresolved compliance issues
- Support audit readiness
Minimum Qualifications - First or Second Class Bachelor's Degree
- Credit (Grade 6 or better) in Mathematics and English at O-Level
- Two Principal Passes at A-Level
- Further Education and Training Certificate (FETC) in Business, Commerce or Management Studies (Required)
Preferred Experience - Sales experience, preferably in banking or financial services
- Competitor product sales experience
- Field sales and customer acquisition experience
- Relationship management experience
Required Knowledge - Basic knowledge of banking products and services
- Understanding of local banking regulations
