Applicants should be Ugandans holding an Honours Bachelorâs Degree in Law; or Land Economics; or Land Management from a recognized University/ Institution. A post graduate diploma in Legal Practice from the Law Development Centre is a must for those with a Law Degree.
Working Experience
Duties
The incumbent will be responsible to the Senior Land Officer for performing the following duties:-
- Collecting, assembling and analysing land management data at the Department or MZO for input during the review and development of land policies, legislation and guidelines;
- Providing legal and technical support during arbitration and reporting on the settlement of land disputes in the cadastral zone;
- Compiling, updating and ensuring proper custody of all land transaction records at Department or MZO;
- Providing technical support in organizing and implementing capacity building and training activities for Local Governments and other stakeholders on land management;
- Preparing workplans, budgets and performance reports for the land management function at the MZO
- Acting as a liaison Officer for implementing activities of the District Land Office and District Land Board with the Department or MZO
- Conducting sensitization on land laws and land rights
- Conducting field inspections and generate reports;
- Any other duties as may be assigned from time to time.
