Laboratory Assistant Number of Positions: 2 Job Purpose The Laboratory Assistant will provide general support in the laboratory by assisting with specimen handling, preparation, cleaning, and maintenance of laboratory order and safety. Key Duties and Responsibilities - Assist in the collection, handling, and transportation of laboratory specimens.
- Prepare laboratory materials and support routine laboratory activities.
- Clean and maintain laboratory work areas and equipment.
- Assist in organizing and storing laboratory supplies.
- Support documentation and filing of laboratory records.
- Observe safety, hygiene, and infection prevention standards.
- Perform any other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications & Requirements - National Certificate in Medical Laboratory Techniques or an equivalent qualification from a recognized institution.
- Must be duly registered with the Allied Health Professionals Council.
- Minimum of 1–2 years of relevant work experience in a laboratory or health facility.
- Basic specimen-collection and laboratory-support skills.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to follow instructions and maintain cleanliness and order in the laboratory.
