Skills Required • Deep knowledge of cassava farming post-harvest handling quality evaluation and aflatoxin control. • Familiarity with horticultural crops relevant to Eastern Uganda’s agroecology. • Demonstrated ability to design and deliver farmer trainings including curriculum development and field facilitation. • Fluent in both English and Ateso. • Excellent interpersonal planning and communication skills with a passion for rural capacity building. Job Summary The Officer will oversee training programs to enhance the skills and knowledge of employees and farmers involved in agricultural production. This role is critical for improving efficiency, quality control, and overall performance in agricultural operations. - Minimum Qualification : Bachelors

Job Description/Requirements Key Responsibilities · Design and deliver practical agricultural training programs to cooperatives focusing on cassava and horticultural crops suitable to the Kumi climate. · Train farmers on trending cassava varieties, cultivation techniques, and best post-harvest practices to maintain high product quality. · Educate producers on quality control methods, including post-harvest assessment and aflatoxin detection using specialized equipment. · Develop training curricula and schedules tailored to farmer needs and regional agronomic conditions. · Provide expert knowledge on horticultural crops. · Act as a technical advisor to farmers and field agents, supporting the transition toward diversified, climate-resilient farming. · Collaborate with other departments to align training with production, procurement, and market demands. · Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture, Agronomy, Horticulture, or a related field.
