JOB DETAILS: Job Summary: The auditor position is responsible for counting all physical inventory, generating department audit reports, reconciling computer data with the physical counts taken and reporting on errors found. The position works with the Supply Chain department to suggest ways to reduce errors in inventory accuracy. The inventory auditor also performs inventory audits of paperwork and data entry at the receiving dock, each department transfer area and any of the outbound areas, such as shipping or layaway. Key Responsibilities • Develop and implement audit plans, visit and schedules. • Ensure complete physical verification of the Stocks of all units and analysis of variances, if any • Coordination with warehouse and logistics teams for proper classification and categorization of inventory and ensuring security and safety. • Inventory Management, recording, maintaining optimum level, investigate and resolve variances, reduce cash purchases. • Suggestion for Improvement in processes, Training of Audit Staff and provide recommendation to management. • Use of Technology for auditing and analysis and reporting • Ensure the method of valuation of inventory as per the accounting standard under consultation with the statutory auditor, if required. • Checking and analyzing the work and taking daily reports from the audit team. • Verifying that obsolete, slow-moving, and damaged stock, stocks at third party locations/Specialized zones/ licensed/bonded warehouses/on-job work. Issued on slips & sold but not delivered. • Checking and validating the Scrap records and disposal like, Sale of used oil, Body parts, old batteries, plastic material, Sheet Metal (GI, MS, Aluminium & Copper etc.), cardboard & other waste material. Monitoring of profit on sale of black oil sale and other material. • Reporting and Analysis of Audit findings, analysing the Stock Ageing report, provide actionable insights to management for decision-making coordination and Communication with the stake holders to ensure the integrity and accuracy of inventory, contributing to overall operational efficiency and financial accuracy. Reporting of variance after discussion with the unit head & stores in-charge. Compliance • Compliance to SOPs Budget • Making sure that Office assets & equipment are efficiently used • Making sure inventory losses (damages, theft) are kept within set limits Procurement responsibility • As per operational requirements Working conditions • Working environment requires that the holder to wear PPEs for safety reasons. • Office bound / on-site / travel/ May be required to travel • The company may choose to relocate to holder to branches or other sister offices as and when needed • Willing to work extended hours to accomplish job roles Qualifications required: • Degree in Finance & Accounting, Business Administration or relevant field. • Certification in Auditing or Inventory Management is as an added advantage: • General work experience (years): 5 years in a manufacturing and consumer-based environment • Previous experience in stock control, inventory management, or a related field is preferred. • Knowledge of basic accounting principles and inventory valuation methods. • Good understanding of stock control procedures. • Working knowledge of inventory management software (SAP) Key competencies and skills: • Analytical skills • Decision making skills • Excellent communication skills • Interpersonal skills • Problem Solving skills • Strong organizing & planning skills • Ability to work well under pressure and adapt to changes in demand or supply. • Strong mathematical skills for inventory calculations and analysis. • Attention to detail and accuracy in performing stock counts, reconciliations, and data entry tasks.
