This is currently a part-time position to commence in early 2026, but it is expected to grow into a full-time job with additional tasks and responsibilities if the candidate can illustrate: -
- excellent leadership and communication skills in both English and Luganda;
- ability to initiate important projects with little supervision;
- complete tasks quickly and correctly.
- Promotion to full-time employment after satisfactory completion of probation period will be compensated with a full-time salary.
- Your duties and responsibilities are listed below and you will report directly to the CEO/CFO and owners.
Key Duties and Responsibilities: Establish and maintain detailed and accurate financial reports in Excel and QUICKBOOKS as follows: - Petty Cash â uses and sources
- Money collected from customer service appointments and sale of our genuine spare parts via cash, EFT and/or cheque.
- Keep proper and accurate ledger â listing all invoices and receipts issued
- Payroll preparation â monthly.
- Prepare monthly filings for NSSF, PAYE and VAT and send them to CEO/COO before 11th of each month
- Set up QuickBooks accounts for 2026. Make sure you can prepare year-to-date P&L statements and balance sheets when requested.
- Support the preparation of monthly and quarterly financial statements by the external accountant by entering all required items into QuickBooks. Knowledge of QUICKBOOKS is A MUST.
- Coordinate Inventory Data / Stock levels with the Senior Technical Manager each quarter.
- Work with the CEO with ordering supplies and inventory from suppliers and our favored sources.
- Review all monthly bank statements and proof for accuracy. (Please request bank statements by email if CEO/CFO forgets to forward)
- Review and work on Full Year Budget (2026) â monthly and quarterly forecasts with CFO.
- Prepare and adjust monthly and quarterly budgets
- Pay attention to large operating costs and expenses, especially vehicles expenses, fuel costs, transport costs, marketing & advertising expenses.
- Participate in all meetings with external accountant when necessary and with GCEWLâs auditor.
- Contribute ideas and suggestions during Weekly Team Meetings. These Team Meetings are held via Zoom or in the office under the leadership of the CEO or the owners.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience: - A high school diploma with very good grades is required. Additional business courses, sales & communications workshops are also good.
- University degree in Sales & Marketing or Business Administration is extremely advantageous.
- At least three (3) years of B2B selling experience with a successful track record.
- Experience selling solar systems & back up solar power sets and water purifiers is a definite plus
- Effective communication skills in the English language and excellent networking skills. An extensive and active network of target customer groups is highly recommended, and we will ask you about your network during the interview to assess your sales potential and success at GCEWL
- Ability to prepare letter and presentations and pitch to senior decision makers is required.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Honesty and integrity are a MUST.
