Position Summary As an ICT Teacher at AsOne Ministries, your role goes beyond classroom instruction. You will be responsible for teaching Information and Communication Technology (ICT) across primary classes, equipping learners with foundational digital skills, while also taking full responsibility for the care, maintenance, and security of the school's ICT gadgets and computer laboratory. You are expected to nurture well-rounded, spiritually rooted, and digitally competent students, and to uphold the professional code of conduct for educators. Key Responsibilities Instructional Responsibilities - Develop and deliver lesson plans and schemes of work for ICT aligned with national and school curricula.
- Teach engaging, inclusive, and Christ-centered lessons that build learners' basic computer literacy, typing, and digital skills.
- Introduce learners to core ICT concepts, including computer parts and functions, word processing, basic internet use, and digital safety.
- Provide remedial support where needed, following the school timetable.
- Assess and evaluate student learning through a range of formative and summative tools, including practical computer-based assessments.
- Differentiate instruction to meet diverse learning needs and abilities, including learners with limited prior exposure to computers.
- Integrate ICT skills and tools to support teaching and learning across other subjects where appropriate.
ICT Lab & Equipment Management - Take full responsibility for the day-to-day care, cleanliness, and organization of the ICT laboratory.
- Maintain an up-to-date inventory of all ICT gadgets, including computers, laptops, projectors, printers, and accessories.
- Conduct regular checks on computers and other ICT equipment to identify faults, damage, or maintenance needs.
- Carry out basic troubleshooting and minor repairs on ICT equipment, and coordinate with technicians for major repairs.
- Install, update, and maintain software and antivirus programs on school computers.
- Ensure proper power management practices (e.g., surge protection, safe shutdown) to protect ICT equipment.
- Develop and enforce lab usage rules to ensure the safe and responsible use of equipment by students and staff.
- Maintain a lab usage schedule/booking system to ensure fair and organized access to the ICT lab.
- Secure the ICT lab and gadgets against theft, damage, or unauthorized access, including proper storage and locking procedures.
- Report equipment damage, loss, or the need for replacement/repairs promptly to school leadership.
- Coordinate with school leadership on the acquisition, allocation, and disposal of ICT equipment.
- Develop, display, and enforce clear ICT lab Do's and Don'ts governing the use of the lab and its equipment by students and staff.
Classroom & Student Management - Maintain a positive, disciplined, and inclusive learning environment in the classroom and ICT lab.
- Provide guidance and counseling to students.
- Maintain discipline while promoting mutual respect and spiritual growth.
- Uphold Christian values and integrate Biblical principles into classroom discussions.
- Teach and enforce responsible and ethical use of technology, including online safety and digital citizenship.
Administrative & Collaborative Duties - Maintain accurate class records, including attendance, inventory, assessments, and progress reports.
- Participate in internal examinations: setting, administering, and marking.
- Engage with parents and guardians through regular communications and meetings.
- Collaborate with colleagues and school leadership to enhance school-wide ICT integration and programs.
- Participate in school initiatives, including devotions, fellowships, and outreach programs.
- Provide basic ICT support to fellow teachers and administrative staff as needed.
Professional Development - Reflect on teaching practices and pursue continuous personal and professional growth.
- Attend staff development sessions and contribute ideas to improve school operations.
- Stay current with educational research, ICT teaching methodologies, and emerging technology trends relevant to the classroom.
Other Duties - Perform additional duties as assigned by the Head Teacher or administration as needs arise.
What We're Looking For Required Qualifications & Experience - Education: Certificate or Diploma in Primary Education, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, with training in ICT teaching methodology.
- Experience: Minimum of 2 years of teaching experience, with proven ability and hands-on experience teaching ICT in a primary school setting.
- Subject Proficiency: Solid understanding of the ICT curriculum, computer hardware and software basics, and teaching strategies.
- Practical experience in basic computer maintenance and troubleshooting is required.
