The role will be responsible for driving HR strategies, ensuring compliance with labor laws, developing people management practices, and supporting organizational growth through effective talent management and employee engagement initiatives. The Human Resource Manager will act as a key business partner to management while ensuring the HR department delivers efficient, compliant, and value-adding services across the organization. Key Responsibilities Strategic Human Resource Management - Develop and implement HR strategies, policies, and programs aligned with organizational objectives.
- Support management in achieving business goals through effective workforce planning and talent management.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives within the HR function.
HR Operations Oversight - Oversee all Human Resource functions including Recruitment, Employee Relations, Compensation and Benefits, Performance Management, Training and Development, Attendance Management, and HR Administration.
- Review and approve HR-related expenditures and departmental budgets.
- Ensure accurate and timely HR reporting and record management.
Policy Development and Compliance - Develop, review, and implement HR policies, procedures, and employee handbook guidelines.
- Ensure compliance with Uganda labor laws, occupational health and safety regulations, and other statutory requirements.
- Monitor and update HR policies in line with legal and business changes.
Leadership and Team Management - Lead, mentor, and develop the HR team to achieve departmental objectives.
- Establish clear performance expectations and monitor team performance.
- Foster a culture of accountability, professionalism, collaboration, and continuous learning.
Employee Relations and Industrial Relations - Oversee employee relations matters, disciplinary processes, grievance handling, and conflict resolution.
- Maintain productive relationships with labor authorities, legal advisors, labor unions, and other external stakeholders.
- Provide guidance to managers and supervisors on employee-related issues.
Organizational Development - Develop HR processes, systems, and performance metrics that support organizational effectiveness and cost optimization.
- Drive employee engagement, retention, succession planning, and leadership development initiatives.
- Support organizational change management and transformation projects.
Stakeholder Management - Collaborate with department heads to address workforce challenges and support operational goals.
- Provide strategic HR advice and recommendations to senior management.
- Represent the company in HR-related engagements with external institutions and regulatory bodies.
Qualifications and Experience Education - Bachelor's Degree in Human Resource Management, Industrial Psychology, Business Administration, Organizational Development, or a related field.
- Professional HR certification (CIPD, SHRM, HRCI, CHRP, or equivalent) will be an added advantage.
Experience - Minimum of 5 years of progressive Human Resource experience.
- At least 2 years in a managerial or leadership position within a medium to large organization.
- Manufacturing industry experience is highly preferred.
- Strong knowledge of Uganda labor laws and HR best practices.

- Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
