Develop monitoring tools, plan for requisite resources for the strategy and put in place the milestones to be achieved, suggesting any improvements to the strategy along the way. Responsibilities or duties - Take a leading role in the development and monitoring of strategy; develop short and medium-term plans in line with strategy and drive performance management by cascading aligned objectives across the Bank.
- Develop the department's annual plan and budget; define the benefits expected as a result of investment in Business Transformation activities and manage implementation to optimize value for money.
- Create and monitor the effectiveness of quantitative and qualitative key performance indicators for the Bank's strategic objectives.
- Stay abreast of industry trends and ensure that the Bank is well positioned to provide competitive and industry-leading services.
- Act as the subject matter expert on strategy for bank-wide business and functional units as required.
- Provide the business with market intelligence reports that highlight key business opportunities and recommend actions on how to advance our play in specific areas of interest.
- Follow up with the business on key strategic actions. Validate the quality of delivery of solutions agreed and provide support to action owners where required, and engage with stakeholders to achieve quality closure of strategic actions.
- Drive a high performance culture. Support the creation, maintenance and validation of function and individual balanced scorecards.
- Lead the identification and elimination of inefficiencies, redundancies, and duplicative efforts across business units through targeted transformation strategies.
- Analyse current processes and workflows to identify complexities and bottlenecks, and propose and implement simplified solutions that enhance operational efficiency, reduce time-to-market, and improve service delivery.
- Develop and oversee detailed project plans, timelines, and budgets for transformation initiatives, ensuring alignment with the Bank's strategic objectives.
- Monitor progress and performance of transformation projects, ensuring timely delivery, resource optimisation, and measurable impact.
- Oversee financial diagnostics to uncover cost-saving opportunities and drive margin improvement.
- Collaborate with Finance to integrate cost optimisation targets into annual budgeting and forecasting cycles.
- Establish and monitor KPIs and productivity metrics to measure the success of transformation initiatives and ensure accountability.
- Conduct rigorous cost-benefit evaluations of proposed initiatives to ensure financial viability and strategic alignment.
- Prioritise transformation projects based on ROI, impact, and alignment with corporate objectives.
- Lead strategic reviews of third-party contracts and vendor relationships to identify renegotiation opportunities and drive cost efficiencies.
- Collaborate with Procurement and Legal to ensure optimised terms and performance accountability.
- Drive change management efforts to ensure successful adoption of transformation initiatives across all levels of the organisation.
- Engage stakeholders through clear communication, training, and support to minimise disruption and maximise impact.
- Foster a culture of innovation, agility, and continuous improvement.

- Participate in departmental budget preparation, procurement planning and manage CEO's cost centres.
- Prepare the monthly CEO's report update to the Board.

- Spearhead the execution of the Bank's innovation and digital transformation strategy, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives.
Qualifications or requirements (e.g., education, skills) Education - A University degree in business or a numerical bias degree or equivalent.
- A relevant post graduate qualification or professional qualification in accounting is an added advantage.
