Southgate Industries is a leading fruit processing company, located in Kampala Industrial & Business Park (KIBP Namanve). We process pineapples, mangoes, and bananas into puree, concentrate, and other value-added products.
Job Summary: The Head of Sales & Marketing will develop and execute the company’s sales and marketing strategy to drive revenue growth for both concentrate exports and bottled juice products for the local market. This role will focus on brand development, market penetration, customer relationship management, and expanding SGI’s footprint in both local and international markets
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
The Head of Sales and Marketing will oversee the following
- Sales Strategy and Target Achievement
- Market Research and Competitive Analysis
- Marketing and Brand Management
Duty/Responsibility
- Develop and implement sales strategies to achieve revenue targets for both the local and export markets.
- Monitor sales performance and adjust strategies to meet market demands.
- Conduct regular market research to understand customer needs and market trends.
- Analyze competitors and develop strategies to ensure SGI products are competitive.
- Oversee the development of marketing campaigns to promote SGI products.
- Manage the company’s brand identity and ensure consistency in all marketing materials.
- Lead and manage the sales and marketing team, including sales representatives and marketing coordinators.
- Provide coaching and support to help the team meet sales targets and professional growth.
- Monitor team performance and address any gaps through training and mentorship.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- Experience – At least 5-7 years of experience in sales and marketing roles, preferably in FMCG (Fast-Moving Consumer Goods) or food and beverage sectors, focusing on fruit juice or similar products.
- Knowledge of Branding and Product Development – Experience in branding, new product launches, and developing go-to-market strategies, particularly in the fruit juice or beverage industry.
Educational Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business Administration, Sales, or a related field – A strong academic background in marketing, sales, or business is crucial.
- Master’s degree in marketing or MBA is an added advantage
- Professional Certifications – Certifications such as Chartered Institute of Marketing (CIM), American Marketing Association (AMA) certification, or similar qualifications.
