The position holder takes responsibility for TPO’s Financial Management Policy and related frameworks, and as SMT lead for internal controls, risk and operational excellence. Your key responsibilities are: - Lead the implementation of the financial strategy, governance & policy
- Oversee treasury, liquidity & FX management
- Ensure financial accounting, close and reporting
- Lead the development of grants, donor compliance and manage the partner/sub-award management systems
- Set up Systems, Data & Process Excellence
- Ensure Controls over Mobile Money, petty cash, receivables & payables
- Oversee the management of procurement, inventory, assets & fleet
- Develop audit, risk & assurance management systems
- Ensure the leadership & capability of the finance department
Job Requirements - A master’s degree in a Finance, accounting, business administration, operations, or other related discipline from a recognized university
- Bachelors degree in Finance and Accounting discipline from a recognized university
- Fully completed Accounting qualification/certification e.g. CA, ACCA, CIMA, CPA
- 10+ years’ progressive finance leadership with ≥ 5 years in (I)NGO multi-donor context and field operations.
- Expert knowledge of IFRS (incl. IFRS 9), treasury and cash management, and external audit liaison.
- Demonstrated donor compliance with EU/UNHCR (and other institutional donors), including sub-award lifecycle management.
- Strong ERP/FMIS leadership (MS Dynamics), segregation of duties, month-end discipline and reporting automation.
- Proven team leadership, change management and process optimization across HQ/field settings.
- Excellent spoken and written English; strong presentation skills for Board/FARM committee; proficiency with Excel and data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI).
- Ability to provide financial analysis and interpretation to Country Management Team for decision-making.
- Knowledge of government policies and regulations on financial management and taxation
- Risk analysis and risk management experience
